7VWP in Your School
The Seven Valleys Writing Project provides a wide range professional development programs for teachers. Our professional development model harnesses the enduring power of writing and is applicable to teachers in all disciplines and at all levels, K-12. Each interactive program encourages teachers to treat their classrooms as research sites. Seven Valleys engages educators in the learning process and brings to the table learning strategies teachers can implement immediately in their classrooms.
Our professional development model strives to build a collegial environment where teachers become expert learners and share their expertise with one another and their students. Our aim is to support teacher leaders who will together to strengthen school culture and classroom instructional practice.
The Seven Valleys Writing Project is an authorized provider for NCLB and included in the catalog of reform models for Comprehensive School Reform. We are specifically named and authorized in the Elementary and Secondary Education Act-otherwise known as No Child Left Behind- in NCLB, Subpart 2. The appropriation itself, or the funding for NWP, is chaptered in Title II. Federal support for Professional Development is also offered through the Seven Valleys Writing Project via the U.S. Department of Education’s Title II Supporting Effective Educator Development (SEED) grant of 2012.
